Texture & Asset Licence
Version: 21 October 2026. Effective for new purchases and free downloads from actual publication of this version.
1. Scope and ownership
This licence governs textures, image maps, material settings, 3D assets and related files purchased or downloaded from Thirdmap / Third Map (the Assets), including free Assets. Assets are licensed, not sold. Thirdmap or its licensors retain ownership of the Assets and their intellectual property. No exclusive rights are granted under this standard licence.
2. Licence holder and permitted use
Subject to payment where applicable and compliance with this licence, Thirdmap grants the purchaser or identified downloading person or organisation a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Assets in the permitted works below. No additional royalties are payable for these permitted uses. This does not grant any manufacturing, merchandise, industrial printing or other separately licensed rights.
A product expressly sold as Personal is licensed for personal, non-commercial projects only. A product sold as Commercial permits the commercial uses below. Where no category is specified, both personal and commercial permitted uses below are included. Neither category permits industrial printing or physical surface reproduction.
Permitted works include 3D renders, architectural and product visualisations, interior design presentations, illustration, advertising, films, animation and game productions in which Assets form part of a creative work. You may sell or deliver these finished works provided the Assets are not supplied as reusable texture files. Printing finished renders or presentations in portfolios, project documents, brochures and advertising is permitted. Such permission does not extend to printing a texture as the decorative design of a physical product or surface.
You retain rights in your original contributions to finished works, subject to Thirdmap's rights in the incorporated Assets. Your customers receive rights in your finished work only, not a licence to extract, reproduce as a physical surface, redistribute or sublicense the underlying Assets.
3. Industrial printing and physical products — separate licence required
Without a separate written licence expressly granted by Thirdmap, you must not use, reproduce or adapt an Asset, in whole or in part, as the pattern, decoration, finish or surface design of any physical product, material or architectural surface, whether by printing, transfer, coating, engraving, embossing, manufacturing or another reproduction process. This restriction covers manufacture for sale, supply, distribution, installation, commercial use or use on behalf of a customer, including one-off commissions, bespoke projects, print-on-demand and mass production.
Examples include ceramic and porcelain tiles, slabs, engineered stone, laminates, panels, wallpaper, wall and floor coverings, glass, fabrics, furniture, countertops, packaging, merchandise and decorative prints where the Asset itself supplies the product's surface design or principal decorative image. Producing manufacturing prototypes, sample surfaces, production trials, print tests or production-ready files for these purposes also requires a separate written licence.
The restriction applies to original and modified versions, including cropped, recoloured, retouched, composited, tiled, mirrored, vectorised, upscaled or otherwise adapted Assets, and to reproduction from a render, screenshot or other intermediate work. Conversion to a flattened image or a non-extractable format does not grant physical reproduction rights.
You must not commission, authorise, sublicense or knowingly supply files to a manufacturer, printer, distributor, customer or other third party for these restricted uses. Buying a Commercial licence, modifying an Asset, paying a printer, or withholding the source file does not remove this restriction. No minimum production quantity or revenue threshold creates an exception.
Contact info@thirdmap.au before any such use. A separate licence must identify the authorised Assets, licensee, permitted processes and products, territory, term, fees, any production limits, exclusivity if expressly agreed, and permitted contractors and downstream parties. Rights exist only within the expressly agreed scope; requesting a quote or receiving a sample does not grant production rights.
4. Redistribution and sublicensing
You must not sell, give away, share, rent, transfer, sublicense, publish or redistribute Assets as standalone files, asset packs, stock content, material libraries or competing products, whether original or modified. This applies at every resolution, including 1K and lower, and to free and paid distribution. There is no general JPEG, low-resolution, material-settings or other-content redistribution exception.
You may deliver finished rendered images, videos, animations and flattened creative presentations under section 2. A compiled game or application may include an Asset only where it is embedded solely for display within the finished work, reasonable technical safeguards prevent ordinary users accessing or exporting it as a reusable Asset, and users are not given tools to generate or export reusable textures or prohibited surface designs. Inclusion in downloadable models, editable scenes, templates, tutorials, material libraries, design tools or configurators requires prior written permission. Technical protection alone does not authorise these latter uses. Thirdmap-supplied models, meshes, scenes and material settings must not be redistributed without that permission.
5. Storage, personnel and service providers
You may keep working and backup copies on secure local or private network storage. Assets must not be made publicly accessible or placed in shared libraries accessible by unlicensed third parties. Employees and contractors may access Assets only as reasonably necessary to work on the licence holder's permitted project, under confidentiality and use restrictions consistent with this licence. They receive no independent reuse rights and must delete working copies when their involvement ends. You remain responsible for access you authorise. Service-provider access for a prohibited manufacturing use is not permitted. Do not share account credentials.
6. Artificial intelligence and extraction
Without Thirdmap's prior written permission, you must not use Assets or website images to train, test, fine-tune or develop AI or machine-learning models, create training datasets, or develop tools that imitate or replace the Assets. Uploading Assets to a service that acquires rights to train on or redistribute them is prohibited. You must not scrape, systematically extract, mirror or copy our catalogue or claim authorship of Assets.
7. Duration and breach
The standard licence continues indefinitely unless terminated for material breach. Account closure, removal of a product from the store or a later price change does not by itself terminate a valid existing licence. Thirdmap may restrict access while reasonably investigating suspected misuse. For a breach capable of remedy, we will give written notice and a reasonable opportunity of at least 14 days to remedy it before terminating the licence. We may terminate immediately for deliberate unauthorised distribution or manufacturing, fraud, or a material breach that cannot be remedied. On termination, stop using and distributing the affected Assets and remove unauthorised copies under your control. Non-excludable legal rights remain unaffected.
8. Applicable version and other terms
The version disclosed and accepted at purchase or free download governs that acquisition. This version does not retrospectively remove rights validly granted under an earlier agreement. A later purchase or download does not automatically relicense previously acquired Assets. Existing separately agreed written licences remain in effect according to their terms.
For new acquisitions subject to this version, this licence replaces inconsistent standard licensing language in General Rules, Terms & Conditions, product descriptions and general website statements. A separately negotiated written agreement prevails only for the Assets and rights it expressly covers. The Terms of Service govern website operation and transactions; this licence governs Asset use. Any express product-specific restriction disclosed before purchase also applies, but a general label such as Commercial or royalty-free does not grant industrial rights. Nothing excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under Australian Consumer Law.

Overview
This website is operated by Thirdmap / Third Map. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Thirdmap / Third Map. By visiting our website, creating an account, purchasing a product, downloading a digital file, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use this website or purchase our products.
Digital Products
Thirdmap sells digital products, including high-resolution natural stone textures, 3D assets, material files and related digital content for use in 3D rendering, architectural visualization, design, illustration, animation, movies, games and other visual production workflows.
Our textures are digital representations of real natural stone slabs. They are not physical stone products.
Unless otherwise stated, our texture files are supplied in digital image formats such as JPG. Available resolutions may include 8K, 16K, 32K or other resolutions depending on the product. Some products may include additional maps, material settings or 3D files where specified on the product page.
Product Information
We make reasonable efforts to describe and present our products accurately. However, colours, contrast, scale and visual appearance may vary depending on your screen, software, render engine, colour management settings, lighting setup and workflow.
Natural stone has inherent variation. The digital texture you purchase represents the specific stone surface shown in the product images and previews.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, Thirdmap textures are not seamless or tileable. They are created from real natural stone slabs and are intended to preserve the natural character, veining and uniqueness of the source material.
Asset Licence and Reserved Industrial Rights
All purchased and free Assets are subject to the Texture & Asset Licence disclosed at purchase or download. Personal and Commercial categories have the meanings given there. Commercial use and royalty-free use refer only to permitted uses under that licence.
The standard licence permits specified visual-production works. It does not permit industrial printing, manufacturing, merchandise or reproduction of textures as physical surface designs, including customer commissions, prototypes or production trials. These uses, and their authorisation or sublicensing to others, require a separate written licence from Thirdmap. Modifying a texture or flattening it into another image does not grant those rights.
Redistribution, embedded uses, authorised personnel, AI restrictions, licence duration and licence termination are governed by that same licence. No separate low-resolution or 1K redistribution exception applies. A separately negotiated written agreement prevails within its express scope. See the licence for complete conditions.
Accounts and Downloads
You may be required to create an account or provide customer information to purchase or access certain products.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. You must not share your account access with other people or allow unauthorised users to download products through your account.
Digital products are normally delivered by download link or customer account access after purchase. You are responsible for maintaining a suitable internet connection and suitable software to download, open and use the files.
We may suspend or restrict access to downloads or accounts where we reasonably believe there has been misuse, unauthorised sharing, fraudulent activity, payment issues or breach of these Terms.
Prices and Payments
All prices are listed in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise.
We may change prices, promotions, product availability or product descriptions at any time. Changes will not affect purchases that have already been completed.
Payments are processed through the payment methods available at checkout. By placing an order, you confirm that the payment information provided is accurate and that you are authorised to use the selected payment method.
Refunds and Digital Downloads
Because Thirdmap products are digital files that can be accessed or downloaded after purchase, all sales are generally final once the download has been made available.
We do not usually offer refunds for change of mind, accidental purchases, selecting the wrong resolution, software incompatibility, or if the product is no longer needed after purchase.
However, if there is a technical issue with your download, a missing file, a corrupted file, or if the product is significantly different from its description, please contact us and we will review the issue. Where appropriate, we may provide a replacement file, technical support, store credit or a refund.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer protection laws.
Australian Consumer Law
Our products and services may come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. If a product or service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy depending on the circumstances.
Where a major problem exists, consumers may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement. For minor problems, the business may be entitled to fix the issue first.
These Terms are intended to apply only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including textures, images, previews, product files, 3D assets, logos, branding, text, graphics, layouts and digital materials, is owned by Thirdmap / Third Map or licensed to us.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you. Your purchase grants you a licence to use the product according to these Terms.
Website Content
You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, scrape, mirror, republish or commercially exploit any part of this website without our prior written permission.
You may share links to our website or product pages in a fair and reasonable way, provided this does not misrepresent your relationship with Thirdmap or imply endorsement without permission.
User Content and Gallery Submissions
If you submit images, renders, testimonials or other content to Thirdmap, you confirm that you have the rights to share that content with us.
By submitting content, you grant Thirdmap permission to display, reproduce and share that content for promotional, portfolio, gallery, social media and marketing purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You retain ownership of your own submitted artwork.
Third-Party Tools and Links
Our website may use third-party services for payments, analytics, email, hosting, downloads, apps or other functions. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that are outside our control.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thirdmap is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, business interruption or project delays arising from the use or inability to use our products or website.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant product or service, unless otherwise required by law.
Prohibited Use
You must not use our website or products:
- for unlawful purposes;
- to infringe intellectual property rights;
- to distribute viruses, malware or harmful code;
- to interfere with the security or operation of the website;
- to abuse, harass or threaten Thirdmap, its customers or any third party;
- to attempt unauthorised access to our systems, files, accounts or services.
Suspension and Termination
We may reasonably suspend account or download access to investigate suspected fraud, unauthorised sharing, security threats or material breach. We will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the matter where practicable. Termination of an Asset licence and its consequences are governed by the Texture & Asset Licence. Suspension or closure of an account does not itself cancel a valid Asset licence. Nothing limits mandatory legal remedies.
Changes and Existing Purchases
We may publish revised terms for future transactions. The terms and Asset licence disclosed and accepted when a purchase or free download is made govern that acquisition. Changes do not retrospectively restrict previously granted rights or amend a separate written agreement. Changes to ongoing website services will be notified where materially adverse, with reasonable advance notice where practicable; customers may stop using those services. Mere continued use of previously acquired Assets does not constitute acceptance of a replacement licence.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and applicable federal laws of Australia.
Any dispute relating to these Terms, the website or our products will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland, Australia, unless otherwise required by law.
